Hereford Bulls Gavin Schattall scored the game’s first goal in less than 10 seconds versus Towson in the Baltimore County Championship. It was all down hill since for the Generals in front of their home crowd. Monmouth commit J.D. Nozemack led the Bulls with 5 goals and 5 assists. After posting a 5-2 lead at the half, Hereford opened the flood gates scoring 9 goals in the 2nd half to win 14-4. Bulls Gavin Schattal scored 4 of Hereford 14 points to go along with 3 assists. It was the second time Hereford defeated Towson this year with a 8-4 victory in April.
The two teams met the last three years in the County Championship. Last year, the game was canceled after a fan suffered a serious injury in the stands. During the contest, Towson had a 12-10 lead in the 4th before the cancellation. Both team were crowned Co-County Champions due to a variety of circumstances.
Today’s win marks an impressive 10 Baltimore County titles for the Bulls in the last 11 years. Hereford is expected to make another deep run in the Class 2A/3A state tournament which is scheduled to start next week.
