UFC Ready To Square Off In Charm City

UFC Fight

The Champ will be in Charm City for UFC 172 Saturday night April 26th. Jon Bones Jones will headline the card and defend his light heavyweight title against the Brazilian, Glover Teixeira. There have been lesser known, more minor league MMA events held in Baltimore, but UFC is definitely top dog!

Coming into the contest Jones is an undefeated fighter in my eyes. A disputed loss to Matt Hamill for illegal elbows is the only flaw on his record. 8 years the elder, Glover has been blazing through his opponents since stepping inside the octagon. This definitely won’t be a case of one fighter chasing the other around trying to mix it up. They both are willing to stand and bang, or take it to the mat and utilize their Jiu-Jitsu in submission attempts. Each fighter has a tremendous amount of heart, the will to win, and any other cliche you want to add to measure their toughness! That’s why I believe it will go the full 5 rounds with Jon Jones winning a unanimous decision to retain his belt.

In the co-main event, Phil Davis will face Anthony Johnson in a scheduled 3 round light heavyweight bout. Davis could get a possible title shot against the Jones-Teixeira winner if he is able to secure a victory. Johnson is stepping back into the octagon after being released by the UFC for failing to make weight at 170 lbs, one too many times. He is now attempting to throw his name into the
205 lb discussion by making a statement Saturday night.
